Now that you've set the correct Stage size, it's time to determine what the background color will be.

With Director 4, you simply click and hold on the color chip located on the Control Panel. A pop-up palette will appear, and you will be able to set your Stage color -- the background color that will be used throughout the program.

Under Director 5+, you can set the Stage color in the "Properties..." dialog, the same one you used to set the Stage size and location onscreen.

With versions of Director from 8 up, you can also use the Property Inspector to set the Stage's color under the "Movie" tab.
